南部バプテスト連盟におけるフリーメイソンの関与
米国プロテスタント系キリスト教の最大教派で、米国内の信徒数は約1,600万人もいる南部バプテスト連盟（SBC Southern Baptist Convention)とフリーメイソンとの関係について言及している。
この記事では、以下のような驚くべきデータが提示されている。
For example, a 1991 survey by the Southern Baptist Convention Sunday School Board found that 14% of SBC pastors and 18% of SBC deacon board chairs are Masons. It is also estimated that SBC members comprise 37% of total U.S. lodge membership. (A 2000 updated SBC report found that over 1,000 SBC pastors are Masons.)"

Therefore, we exhort Southern Baptists to prayerfully and carefully evaluate Freemasonry in the light of the Lordship of Christ, the teachings of the Scripture, and the findings of this report, as led by the Holy Spirit of God."

また同じSBCに関する以下の記事と合わせて考えるのは、興味深いことである。
２０１２年には、同連盟の５万１０００の教会のうち約２０％を白人ではない人種の人が占めるようになった。しかし、複数の人種が共に集う教会は１％未満だ。
一方で聖書の啓示を信じる自分たちの教義と両立しない教えを信奉する牧師や会員を許容する反面、同じ教義を共有する会員同士が「人種の違い」という理由で共生に困難を感じている。
これは決して南部バプテスト連盟内部だけの問題ではないと思う。メインラインに属していようがいまいが、同様の自己矛盾は、規模や性質の違いこそあれ、どこの教派・教団・教会・個人の中に存在するものではないだろうか。信条と実践との間の乖離や妥協は、人間が造る境界線など全く無視し、染みのようにそこにある。
